"Weir has always told that story; that's the way he likes to remember it. "

Or, maybe after 40-something years, his memory is not as accurate as tape-recordings. I would imagine that you have listened to thousands more shows than Mr. Weir has. Phil is about the only one I get a vibe from that says they went back and listened to earlier shows. And, I think that was done partly as a way of selecting items for the Fallout album and for his book, ISOTS.

I just don't see anything nefarious in the fact that a 62 year-old man can't remember when exactly he switched lyrics 40 years earlier?
I can't recall when I first coined "80's haties" and that was just a few years ago.

My guess is that 20 year-old Bob was more interested in getting laid and high than preserving dates for posterity. I just can't imagine that he ever imagined that people would not only be listening to this band 45 years later but fine-tooth combing it the way we do.

Enjoy,
Judge TOOTMO

I have to ask: what does 80s haties mean? Or am I being dense?

"...preserving dates for posterity"

This has always been a goal of mine; no, not because of any interest in being tucked away in a pyramid (get it?)...just by way of explaining my interest in the feminine posters.

;)

Once more for emphasis:

The first to notice my change in medication schedule! [I wanted to say "bingo" one more time, but shant...]

The award goes to Lou!

[Yes, in fact, laid up for 24 hrs due to a disk issue...no, not that kind of disk, L5/S1 to be precise...I'll be back on my feet and out of your hair in a day or two; but, it's nice to know your friends are just where you left them, ya know? Seriously.]

Ah, so it wasn't my imagination. Good to know, though I'm sorry you've had to go through that. Good luck with the convalescence!
